  7. Mary Jaksch says:

Remember that you need to say WHY you nominate your chosen writers’ blog – otherwise your vote won’t count :-(

  8. I nominate youngPrePro.com.

This is because Onibalusi puts so much determination into what he does. Imagine writing 20 articles on a single day! Oni should win this.

  9. Arden Clise says:

I love Cats Eye Writer’s blog. Judy provides fun, helpful and well written content. I always learn something or at least have a good laugh.

    • Judy Dunn says:

      Arden,

It’s been great getting to know you over at Cat’s Eye. And the part about the laugh? That makes me smile because it’s one of my goals. Thanks you for the nomination. : )

      Judy

  10. Tammy Redmon says:

My one nomination for this year’s top 10 bloggers goes to Judy Dunn of http://catseyewriter.com.

Judy routinely posts thought provoking pieces of value packed content on her blog. She has taught me much of what I know about the art of blogging and the eloquence of writing my heart on a page. I have learned more than the practical tips and tools, Judy has modeled the way for me as an aspiring blogger and up-leveled my own skill set.

Each week Cat’s Eye Writer blog comes with a call to action and a list of the very best information and learning opportunities. From trade secrets, to why use a photo, to how and why to comment on a blog, all the way to picking the best bloggers to follow to transform your business, Judy Dunn let’s her educator heart shine through her words. She is beyond a Go-Giver with her writing, she is a shining star example of what award winning bloggers have to offer the world.

    • Judy Dunn says:

      Tammy,

  12. I want this guy (Onibalusi) to win; he is young, determined, and I like to call him the guest blogging king

    http://www.youngprepro.com/

  13. I would like to nominate Roz Morris of Nail Your Novel:

    http://nailyournovel.wordpress.com/

Why? Because she consistently writes helpful and useful posts for fiction writers. She’s an amazing writer and every post has a fresh, new perspective. She’s a ghostwriter whose books have gone to be bestsellers and so anyone would benefit from the expertise she shares freely on her blog. She communicates with her fans and readers, and answers their questions promptly and gives them helpful advice. She’s the kind of professional writer you want on the beginning fiction writers side–and luckily, she is. Her perspective and advice are essential for each beginning writer out there, and she deserves to be on that list of Top Tenners.

For now, at least, she’s on my personal Top Ten list. Good luck Roz!

  14. William Polm says:

    I nominate http://storyfix.com/
Larry Brooks’ blog has thorough and concentrated advice for fiction writing that is always spot-on. His writing is entertaining but also filled with clear explanations, related contemporary illustrations and brilliant analogies–which are usually quite entertaining too. His blog posts and his books are resources I do not want to be without. Writing advice this quality is a rather rare find and a treasure worth paying attention to.

  15. Besides WritetoDone (of course!) I like Carol Tice’s http://www.makealivingwriting.com

Not only does Carol offer tons of solid advice to freelance writers, she’s an advocate for writers being fairly compensated, especially in today’s competitive online market. Carol knows her stuff.

    • Thanks for being my first nominator, Linda!

    • Melody Gould says:

I agree with Linda. I also nominate Carol’s site.

Aside from the advice she gives through her articles, it is not just a one way street. She take the time to listen, answer questions and help anyone who asks for it. :-) She’s always pushing writers to be the best they can be and to make a good living at it instead of just telling them to write for content mills.

  16. I nominate Courage2Create: http://www.thecourage2create.com

Ollin continuosly and frequently posts on topics that are helpful to an artist’s personal life as well as writing life. I keep coming back again and again to it.

  17. I recommend http://www.youngprepro.com because he gives concise information on how to write. He does not hide his tricks, he bares it all for whoever cares to follow. He’s a great guest blogger. He knows his onions and he’s committed to the business.

  18. I simply nominate no other website than (www.youngprepro.com) and the reason for this is that the owner of the site has really tought me step by step all I need to become a blogger and I really owe him that.
An excellent blog you all should read.

  19. Joanna Penn says:

  23. Supermaren says:

I nominate IndieInk (http://indieink.org). Their weekly writing challenge has resulted in some really fantastic writing from authors all over, which they publish daily.

Storyfix articles focus not only in the inspirational part, but also in the rules wich support all good writing. Without constraints and pushing us forward to a new understanding of the craft itself.

  25. Gilly Fraser says:

Dean Wesley Smith has the best blog for writers. His website and blog is filled with the *business* of writing and how this impacts your career as a writer. 30. My vote is for Courage2Create

    http://www.thecourage2create.com

it is the best of the ones I follow.

  31. My vote for best writer’s blog goes to JodyHedlund.com, and I’ll tell you why. Jody’s “one of us”. She is a wife, a homeschooling mother, and a very good writer. She gets the rest of us who are struggling to get supper finished while we’re also plotting out how to reword that one scene in chapter 5. Jody’s advice comes from experience and she’s just a nice person.

  32. I want to nominate Linda Formichelli of The Renegade Writer http://www.therenegadewriter.com/ (I think it’s bad form to nominate myself!)

Since getting to know Linda from last year’s Top 10 win, I have found her advice always fresh and super-practical. I find myself retweeting every post.

  33. The Creative Penn blog by Joanna Penn. http://www.thecreativepenn.com. Joanna is a one stop shop for book marketing ideas. Whether it’s original posts, industry interviews or retweeting helpful marketing ideas by others I have learned a wealth of information from her blog alone.

  34. Karen says:

I nominate Ollin http://www.thecourage2create.com because his blog is inspiring for beginning writers as well as seasoned writers. He examines life from the heart in a down to earth style. It is my favorite blog period.

  35. I nominate The Creative Penn (http://www.thecreativepenn.com/) with JoAnna Penn for being an all-around resourceful and useful website about writing, publishing and promoting. I follow the entire industry by following this blog. JoAnna shares useful information that I really want to know, and she listens and shares when others suggest great info too. I’ve learned about writing, networking and how others are making it as an author. It’s also been helpful to follow her writing and publishing journey too. The Creative Penn isn’t just a bunch of good information, it’s also hosted by a person who is sharing as she learns and helping countless other authors.

  36. K.M. Weiland says:

  37. David G Terrell says:

    http://www.thecreativepenn.com/

Without question, in my mind is Joanna Penn’s website. Her advice regarding self-publishing has been spot on. Her gentle encouragement has kept me writing until it almost seems natural. She’s just nice people…a treasure to the writing community–and, she doesn’t even know it.

  41. I nominate Prolific Living –

    http://www.prolificliving.com

While Farnoosh Brock writes about so much more than writing – her blog is indeed the ultimate resource for those looking to enhance their writing skills and advance their careers.

At a minimum, Farnoosh’s free download – “Empower Your Writing” is a brilliant guide, packed with actionable advice and practical tips (what’s even more remarkable is that English isn’t even Farnoosh’s first language!). But Prolific Living is so much more – it teaches readers about work/life balance; it empowers you to take risks and grow your business; it provides a holistic point of view that positions you to succeed, no matter how you plan to leverage your writing skills.

Behind the blog, Farnoosh is a consummate support, a brilliant business woman, and a compassionate example of anyone looking to find success doing what they love.

I’ve been participating for almost two years. There is no question that my writing has improved dramatically thanks to 10thDoM. All of the participants are talented writers and their feedback has been invaluable. The challenge of writing to a prompt competitively is a wonderful exercise.

There is a lot of great information on the site and as a freelancer myself it really helps me stay motivated. I like how she explains things such as Google Story or backlinking. 82. James Brown says:

There are so many great writers blogs out there. I love Onibalusi like a lot of the folks here. However I have about 10 writing blogs booked marked and nine of them are outstanding female copywriters who inspire me the most. They all provide outstanding information and motivation, however one stands above the others.

Hands down its Carol Tice at http://www.makealivingwriting.com

In fact one of the other female bloggers mentioned here was flattered that I compared her to Carol. Why you ask? Because Carol kicks your butt when you need it the most and that is what most of us under-performing copywriters need. Yes Carol provides the best in writing webinars, a forum and learning center over at the Writers Den but what she provides first and foremost is tough love baby. Stop whining and do something NOW is what I take away everday I visit her.

  83. gaurav says:

I absolutely love his blog and after seeing his growth, hard work and integrity, I believe that his blog takes the figurative cake :)

  85. Mahendra says:

My favorite blog is YoungPrePro.com and I nominate it, I always found the best content which I wanted

  86. Grace says:

I’m nominating Carol Tice of http://www.makealivingwriting.com/ (Making a Living Writing). I came across her blog when someone posted her post at a writer’s forum of a content mill – the post that said my writing is worth way more than 5 cents per word! That got me reading the rest of her blog and in a month’s time, I came to believe (and prove) writers ARE worth a lot more.
But Carol doesn’t just inspire writers, she teaches them how to become better writers and how to get the gigs that pay. She really cares about helping other writers succeed.

  87. Chuck Brooke says:

I nominate K.M. Weiland: http://www.wordplay-kmweiland.blogspot.com. Katy is smart, universally accepted and very accessible through her home page blogs and her Twitter page. She is personally involved tending to her ‘garden’ and she is very generous with her time – she is indefatigable.

I once asked her a basic question concerning a submission I had ready to go and she posted a response within 15 minutes. She saved me from an automatic rejection.

Katy is genuinely concerned with the development of the people who follow her and for those reasons I believe she deserves your consideration.

  91. Lisa says:

I nominate http://www.daniellemcgaw.com because she rocks. No, really, she does. Danielle is always open and honest in her posts and ALWAYS willing to help another blogger, from explaining the simplest tasks to late night brainstorming sessions. She motivates on her blog, in forums and in private mastermind groups. The information she provides is priceless and AWESOME!

  92. Audrey Slater says:

I’d like to nominate Ruth Zive from The Freelance Writing Blog – http://www.freelancewritingblog.com.

As an aspiring writer, I always find her advice helpful, clear and easy to follow. She relates her own experiences in a meaningful way, pointing out how writers can grow their careers and set their standards high.

She should DEFINITELY be in the top ten!

  97. Jimmy Yeoh says:

I consider myself as an amateur blogger, but I’ve been reading passionately for over a decade.

One of the great blogs I am fortunate enough to discover recently, is Jeff Goins at http://www.goinswriter.com.

I’d definitely nominate Jeff for his no-nonsense and pragmatic approach. He has such sharp insights in the generation where we’re constantly bombarded with information of values ranging from gold to garbage.

    His is gold.

  98. Brett Henley says:

My vote goes to Jeff Goins

Fantastic, poignant, practical resource for writers. Jeff is all about teaching writers from all placements on the spectrum how to build a truly sustainable platform, but he also fully embraces the creative process … So it’s more than just monetizing. Probably the most comprehensive blog for writers that I know of.

    http://goinswriter.com

  99. I want to nominate Jeff Goins Writer.
    http://goinswriter.com/
I was introduced to his writing blog only a few months ago, but he inspired me so I began to follow immediately.
Jeff writes about so many facets – practical, philosophical, personal. He communicates as one human to another about writing – one of the most uniquely human of human pursuits. He inspires me with his commitment to ethical values, artistic individuality, and especially the possibilities of making a difference in the world.
    Thanks.

  151. My go-to blog for writing advice is K.M. Weiland’s Wordpaly http://wordplay-kmweiland.blogspot.com/2011/11/how-to-describe-your-charactersand-how.html. I feel like she practically reads my mind with her timely posts about just the writing tips I need at the moment. From first lines to a power-packed ending, K.M. Weiland has it covered. Plus, she does great Vlog posts (she’s adorable!) and transcribes what she says in her vlog below so that you don’t necessarily have to watch it to get her golden nuggets of wisdom. I have learned so much from her.

    http://seanmplatt.com
Fabulous writer, great teacher and an all round gentleman.

  153. I would like to nominate Nick Russell, who writes The Gypsy Journal, at http://gypsyjournalrv.com.

Even though Nick’s blog is aimed at RVers, he covers a multitude of topics that are not only relevant to RVers but people who don’t travel all the time. Nick is able to keep people’s attention with his writing because of his sense of humor and being on target with current events. You feel like you are in the same room with him having a friendly conversation while learning at the same time.

In addition to doing a daily blog, Nick also publishes a newspaper, The Gypsy Journal, and writes books, his latest one being Big Lake with the sequel soon to be published. He also organizes RV rallies (with the help of his wife) that features programs with experienced speakers to educate RVers. His appeal is that he tells it like it is.

    this year I’m voting for Larry Brook’s @ http://www.storyfix.com

he is hands down the best book writing blog and an essential resource for any writer intent on writing a publication worthy story — his understanding of story structure is unparalleled and perhaps most importantly, he’s able to convey that understanding in a memorable and easy to grasp style –

however, it bears mentioning that I am the real winner here in these nominations, as I’ve picked up the links for a half dozen or so writing blogs which I did not know existed!

Lots to be grateful for here!

Have a great holiday everyone :)

    Christy

    • Noah Stewart says:

I have to agree with Christy on both counts; both with her nomination of Storyfix (and her reasoning) AND the fact that I’m learning about new writing blogs which I didn’t know existed.

I recommend Jeff Goins at http://goinswriter.com/writers-manifesto/

He offers a lot of great insight for emerging writers and on the arts. His writing is super and his stories very interesting. I read them everyday!

    Marisol

  166. Mikalee B says:

Ruth Zive’s new(ish) blog, http://www.freelancewritingblog.com, is incredible. She’s down to earth, witty, and she can clearly relate to the plight of (and opportunities available to) freelance writers.

One of the greatest strengths of her blog is the fact that it speaks to writers of all levels. I’ve been doing this for more than a decade, yet I’m still gleaning tips from her!

I’m digging her style — definitely a Top 10 read.

    :)

  167. I nominate http://catseyewriter.com/ Judy Dunn. She covers a variety of topics that are interesting and meaningful.

  168. marcy says:

I can’t think of any writer’s blog but “Youngprepro.com.” Please give him this chance to become famous and help as many aspiring writers all over the world.

  171. Luke Stokes says:

I nominate Jeff Goins blog http://goinswriter.com/ because his writing challenges me to grow and learn.

  172. Judy Dunn says:

So many outstanding bloggers and only one nomination allowed! Okay, I guess it will have to be the A. Victoria Mixon blog:

    http://victoriamixon.com/

Victoria’s blog is smart, funny and incredibly helpful in all things to do with fiction writing. She has a generous heart and I can just feel her support for writers of all levels just oozing off the page (screen?). The fact that her advice is worth so much and that she so freely gives it on her blog makes her a phenomenal blogger and a very special person. In order to keep inspired on this sometimes difficult path to publication, it helps to have someone like Victoria on our side.

  182. Ilsa says:

I vote for Ruth Zive’s writing blog http://www.freelancewritingblog.com

I have learned many life lessons by reading her blog.

  183. Mel Corbett says:

I nominate jakonrath.blogspot.com for talking about the business side of writing.

  184. Kellie says:

I definitely must nominate Carol Tice of Makealivingwriting.com. I discovered Carol’s site after having a rather disheartening year as a writer. Immediately I read her ebook and felt a spark of inspiration I haven’t felt in years. I emailed Carol to thank her and she promptly responded. In fact, every time I email her, she responds with gusto.

Her passion, enthusiasm, and go-get’em attitude goes unmatched. Every time I read Carol’s blog, it’s written selflessly with the reader’s best intention in mind. She truly wants to help others succeed in the business and leaves no secret untold.

  185. Vaughn Roycroft says:

I nominate Therese Walsh and Kathleen Bolton’s wonderful Writer Unboxed @ http://writerunboxed.com/ . A wonderful mix of daily posts from top publishing industry professionals, and writers from top pros all the way to struggling unpublished voices. If I only have time to read one blog on any given day, this is it.

In addition to a daily blog, WU has become a vibrant and supportive community, with a facebook group page, here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/writerunboxed/ WU on FB is a place where authors and apiring writers from all over the world come together to share, teach, learn, and uplift one another, 24 hours a day.

  186. Conni says:

His writing is consistantly outstanding and his advice some of the best out there.

  187. Thanks for the noms for Writer Unboxed, and for honoring us last year as one of your top ten!

Another great site–and the site I’d like to nominate–is Jane Friedman’s blog at http://janefriedman.com/. Jane’s site features industry news, writing advice, social-media savvy and more. I love Jane’s authority as the former editor of Writer’s Digest, but even more I love her sharp, perceptive insights–so valuable during this changing time in publishing. If you haven’t checked out the site yet, please do. It’s definitely in my personal Top Five.

    • Paul R. Drewfs says:

I second the nomination of Jane Friedman’s blog at http://janefriedman.com/. Meaning is usage and I find Jane’s advice eminently right, tight, and full of insight: utility personified.

      • Doug Toft says:

I THIRD the nomination of Jane Friedman. She delivers consistently useful insights without compromise. What a beacon of light for both fiction and nonfiction writers. Don’t miss her posts.

        • A fourth here. Her material is varied and engaging. It’s also applicable to those who don’t write traditionally paper-published material.

          • http://JaneFriedman.com offers advice both tactical/practical as well as supportive. Whether she’s hunting down experts to guest blog about specific tips on author platforms, social media, and the like, or simply reminding writers to ask themselves the important questions such as _why_ they write, I really appreciate Jane’s voice, perspective, and authority on all matters writing.

That’s why her blog is my go-to source for all things writing!

    • Another vote here for Jane Friedman – not just because she’s a fellow Hooiser. ;) I started reading her helpful posts over at Writer’s Digest.

Writing can be a daunting adventure, especially for the newbie, but even for the seasoned pro. Thank goodness there are helpful folks like Jane out there who serve as the shining light to guide us in our difficult path.

  188. David Anson says:

    I nominate http://www.thecreativepenn.com
I think Joanna does a great job presenting useful information and interviews for all levels of writers.

  189. Sarah M. says:

I follow Jeff Goins, and I view him as more than just an instructional how-to blogger. He encourages writers to live a more inspired life, thus creating more lucid writing. He reaches out to those who have “been there” and “done it,” (especially in marketing and publishing) and distills the information for those of us who are learning how to turn our ideas into kinetic energy. I look forward to every post.

  190. Sixty says:

I am nominating Judy Dunn, Cat’s Eye Writer, http://catseyewriter.com/. She amuses, inspires and educates me. I love what she has to say. A good person with a good viewpoint. She is one of the first I read daily, she keeps me grounded. Mostly, she is just real—very real, very balanced and mostly always cheerful.

  191. Lynn Mosher says:

I would like to nominate Wordplay, the site of K. M. Weiland. She consistently shares great information that is useful for all writers. http://www.wordplay-kmweiland.blogspot.com/

  192. saytue saye says:

I nominate http://www.youngpreppro.com, because Onibalusi Bamidele has great information on his site that all bloggers and writers can learn from. Ands he always have great tips.

  193. Benny says:

I nominate Ruth at (http://www.freelancewritingblog.com). She writes amazing content. She’s taken risks in her life and is paying off. Plus she’s just a really cool woman.

  194. Albert says:

My choice is http://youngprepro.com Oni is so selfless and very open and keen to help writers all over the world to achieve some level of success in their writing careers and his blogging career speaks for itself

  195. Caroline says:

My vote is for Joanna Penn’s blog – http://www.TheCreativePenn.com – it’s a treasure trove of information.

  196. I would like to nonimate Jeff Goins, Writer Jeff is someone who is completely unpretentious and refreshing in a time when self promotion has been taken to a whole new level. Jeff is a writing professional whose advice is always sound and extremely helpful. His goal is to help other writers excel and this he does on a daily basis. There are many excellent bloggers, but Jeff is the finest of them all. Many thanks, Elizabeth Young.
    Jeff blogs at: http://goinswriter.com/

  197. I nominate http://www.thecreativepenn.com/

Joanna puts out helpful content consistently. I have learned so much about the reading and writing industry from her, and she has helped me develop my 48k word manuscript. I feel as though she truly deserves this award.

  198. Roman says:

I vote for Jeff Goins who writes over at http://www.goinswriter.com . His blog is inspiring, wise, creative, and always adding value to his readers. He’s done webinars, interviews, giveaways, guest posts, along with regular blog posts, which have been tremendously helpful. He’s always writing great content and trying new stuff. My vote goes to Jeff!

  199. I nominate http://www.thecreativepenn.com/ by Joanna Penn.

I love her podcasts. She has spoken with some knowledgeable people in the past that I never would have the courage to ask questions about in reference to publishing and writing. I love the fact that she has shared her own writing journey for Pentecost (which I do plan on reading) and Prophecy. Most writers I know of don’t do that–they just share the glory after publishing, while Joanna gives it to you from Day 1.

  200. Thanks, Carol…and I nominate the Make a Living Writing Blog! I’m a jaded old pro but I still find I learn new things on your blog.

  201. Terri says:

I recommend the Renegade Writer. http://www.therenegadewriter.com.

I love this blog because it acknowledges that following all the rules about queries, websites, etc. aren’t always necessary to establish a freelance writing career. It mentions options for those who march to a different drum.

I also like that she isn’t always constantly selling something. I despise those writer blogs that seem to end every post with a reason why I should join their class or buy their book, or sign up for their mentoring.

    • Thank you SO much, Terri! I’m glad you appreciate that I don’t do a lot of marketing on the site. When I have a class coming up or a new mentoring special I’ll post something, but I can’t stand those blogs that hook you with a great title, give you just a little info, and the ask you to sign up for their class/mentoring/e-book/whatever to get the real deal. So even though I do need to make money off my blog I try to keep my markting transparent.

  202. Malok Mading says:

It would be a mistake if I don’t give Onibalusi Bamidele’s blog a chance here after giving me and others out there such an invaluable factual amount of information. I believe his blog(YoungPrePro.com) deserves a recognition.

  203. Jan Udlock says:

Why The Renegade Writer of course!

  204. Lyz says:

    I nominate Freelancedom: http://www.freelancedom.com/

Not only does the site provide a wealth of resources for the beginning writer, but Steph’s posts are full of good ideas and motivational tips for writers at any stage of the game. Steph herself is a successful writer who knows the game and how it’s played and she shares her knowledge on everything from marketing to pitching. Bonus: Her Word Nerds Newsletter is fantastic!

  205. Jo says:

I would like to nominate Krissy Brady at:
    http://www.krissybrady.com/

Kirssy trawls through all the writing competitions so that we don’t have to, and manages to find even the most obscure, well-hidden ones. Her posts are frequent and always interesting, with writing advice and articles too. It’s because of Krissy’s blog that I won my first ever writing prize, so I am indebted to her. Many thanks for all your hard work, Krissy.

    • Krissy Brady says:

Thanks so much! I completely teared up while reading your post Jo, and am ecstatic that I have been able to contribute to your writing career. Please do keep me posted on how your writing is going! xoxo

  211. Kittie Walker says:

I want to nominate Linda Formichelli of The Renegade Writer http://www.therenegadewriter.com/

  212. Creative Copy Challenge at http://www.creativecopychallenge.com gets my nomination!

Why? Because of the community and active moderation there. Twice weekly writing prompts consisting of interesting word lists are nice (with full creative freedom – no silly, “Write a short story about a flower, a chicken, a diamond, and a hunk of moon rock”) but it is the creative energy, supportive feedback and encouragement, and camaraderie of the host, Shane Arthur, and all the participants that make this one worthy of being named one of the top 10 blogs for writers.

  213. Elizabeth Ellis says:

I happily nominate Linda Formichelli’s The Renegade Writer (http://www.therenegadewriter.com). Linda gives marvelous advice on a wide range of topics, from how to write killer queries to how to increase your productivity to how to get paid what you’re worth. Every writer, from the most experienced to a complete novice, will find a wealth of helpful information there: e-courses, e-books, and individually targeted mentoring are just a few of the offerings available. It’s awesome!

  214. Judy Dunn at Cat’s Eye Writer (www.CatsEyeWriter.com)

Judy consistently provokes excellent discussion about the craft of writing and blogging. I admire her wit, smarts and ability to stir the pot. Judy puts her heart and soul into her work… I’ve learned a lot from her!

She offers vital advice to freelance writers and I find myself sharing every of her posts.

  221. S. A. Archer says:

I nominate http://www.thecreativepenn.com/. The articles and interviews have taught me so much about marketing and indie authorship. I go to that site daily to listen to podcasts and watch videos and read articles. It is a treasure! It changed my life. I never considered being an indie author before. Listening to Joanna and her guests talk about ditching traditional publishing and making their visions come true, reaching readers, and actually make a living has inspired me! I mean, loads of traditionally published mid-list novelists can’t quit their day job as the publishing company eats most of the profits. And their books vanish from the shelves after a few months without leaving a ripple. Where as indie authors willing to do the work (and there is a lot of work to it) can make a decent living, and their books continue to sell for years, and never go out of print. Joanna is amazing. She is generous with her time and her insights. I can’t recommend her enough!

  222. Charles says:

    I nominate the Renegade Writer!

Hands done my fav out of so many excellent blogs.

Insider nuts and bolts information delivered in a fun, breezy, I’ve-been-there-too style. Wonderfully open and supportive. What more can you ask for?

  227. Rahul says:

fogot to add the URL for my nomination of The Renegade Write Blog

    http://www.therenegadewriter.com

  229. http://goinswriter.com/

Jeff Goins is one of the few “writing” blogs I follow consistently.

  230. I nominate Jane Friedman, who is so good at curating the crazy, crazy world of publishing.

    http://janefriedman.com/

  231. Er, I think I meant to say ‘curating information about the crazy world of publishing.’ Not curating the industry itself. ;)

  232. Raji Lukkoor says:

I nominate Joanna Penn’s The Creative Blog. http://www.thecreativepenn.com/

  233. Bojan says:

http://youngprepro.com is one of the fastest growing blogs I know. Apart from the insane growth rate, it delivers the content that is really helpful to me and other writers. Has great tips on how to monetize your hard work! So I think this blog should definitively pick up the prize!

I am quite sure it will blow off any competition…

  234. Adrienne says:

  238. shelley says:

I nominate the Renegade Writers Blog. It’s the bee’s knees!

  239. A vote for Larry Brooks’ http://www.storyfix.com

He adds story structure along with inspiration coming from a novelist. Even better, he interacts with his readers with the occassional email back. What a nice surprise.

  240. Sonja says:

I nominate the Renegade Writer’s Blog at http://www.therenegadewriter.com

This blog is super helpful and comprehensive. Plus, it is written with such a friendly and down-to-earth approach. I read it all the time!

  241. David says:

Definitely Oni of youngprepro.com. He’s simply the best writer i’ve seen in a while

  242. I nominate Lori Widmer’s blog http://loriwidmer.blogspot.com/ “Words on the Page”

She is a great asset to writers. She gives so much and is willing to help. Her blog is my daily read and I would love to see her get some recognition for her work.

  243. Candace says:

It’s a tough choice, there are so many RV Bloggers that I follow. But, I have found myself NEEDING to check Nick Russell’s blog GYPSYJOURNALRV before I get dressed for the day ….http://gypsyjournalrv.com/

Why? Because as an RVer, we can virtually ride along with Nick to see whats happening in the RV park he and Miss Terry are staying in, what local restaurant serves a good meal and what the weather is like that day where they are.

Sometimes, when I’m ticked off about something REALLY stupid in the news, I can be assured Nick will have said exactly what I am feeling in his BAD NICK BLOG, so I check out ://badnickblog.com

Nick wrote a mystery novel called BIG LAKE which I read on Amazon Kindle and having been a resident in SE Arizona, I loved reading about the local towns I am familiar with. Can’t wait for the sequel to be released….

So my vote for BEST BLOGGER is Nick Russell. Am sure there are other Nick Russell fans who will agree! Thanks Vickie for letting me know about the nomination.

  244. I’m so utterly impressed with Linda Formicelli’s The Renegade Writer blog – super helpful tips … Like little workshops contained in one blog!

  245. Robin says:

I nominate Linda Formichelli at the Renegade Writer http://www.therenegadewriter.com because magazine writing is something every writer should be able to make money doing and Linda is a great teacher.

  246. I nominate Linda Formichelli at the Renegade Writer http://www.therenegadewriter.com because Linda gives great hands-on, practical advice that has helped launch many a writer, including myself.

  247. I want to nominate Jeff Goins at http://www.goinswriter.com because he’s a great writing coach. He presents well-thought out and practical helps for writers and bloggers. He also has a great 12-week “Intentional Blogging” course that’s fantastic!

  248. Linda with the Renegade Writer!

  249. I receive great benefit from K.M. Weiland’s Wordplay blog.
    http://wordplay-kmweiland.blogspot.com/

  250. Jennifer Funk says:

I’d like to nominate Renegade Writer. I appreciate the way the authors make freelancing accessible to someone like me who is new to the business. The posts are always full of practical advice!

  251. Sandra Gahlinger says:

Top writing blog in my book is Renegade Writer – http://www.therenegadewriter.com

    Why?

Linda made it easy for me to break into magazine writing – within 24 hours of following her advice, I had my first assignment.

The advice on the blog isn’t just theory – it’s immediately useful and can be put to use easily. It does what all writing should do – answer what’s in it for the reader. Renegade Writer always puts the reader first.

  252. Tom Wideman says:

I love Joe Bunting’s The Write Practice at thewritepractice.com
His site is very helpful for aspiring writers. He blogs about some aspect of writing and the gives a 15 minute assignment. We then can add our assignment on comment section and we get feedback. I’ve learned so much!

  253. I nominate CreativeCopyChallenge.com (http://www.creativecopychallenge.com/).

The reason is simple: the writers there actually interact! We write, read, applaud and horse around like a rowdy poolside party. The premise is so simple, too. We get ten “prompt” words and are challenged to write something coherent, using all ten words.

The results are everything you’d expect from a motley assortment of quill-dippers. Prose, poetry, essays, rants, comedy, drama, serialized fiction, non-fiction and all that good stuff.

The interaction is priceless. We encourage each other. It’s not an editorial haven – not that kind of site.
The owner, Shane Arthur, is a tireless moderator who deserves his own award for Awesome something.

Well, you did ask for reasons. :)

    Cheers,

    Mitch

  254. Gord says:

    I nominate http://thewritepractice.com/

The site gives you something to consider and practice daily. Not only is the suggestion provided but also the opportunity to post and receive feedback from others in the community and the site owner. Personally, I have received some great postive feedback and encouragement even though I am only a recreational writer.

If there is a specific category for “encourages the art of writing in everyone” I believe you have your winner.
    g

  255. Emma says:

I nominate the Write Practice. (http://thewritepractice.com)

Joe, the brains behind the 15-minutes-of-writing-practice-a-day operation, not only puts up an inspirational prompt every day, but he brings the site community into the real world. He and his wife Talia host a writing feast once a month where aspiring writers who are part of the Write Practice community can come together and share a meal and practice their craft and critique each other’s work.

Tuesdays there are practical posts on grammar, usage, and punctuation as well. On Saturdays, Joe posts a practice that serves as an antithesis to something that was practiced earlier that week. There’s a lot of learning that happens, and Joe is very engaged in the comments with his readers.

It’s a great community to be a part of!

  256. Dave says:

I have to nominate the Renegade Writer (www.therenegadewriter.com) Why? One word: CONTENT! Thanks Linda!

  257. I’m compelled to nominate WordPlay
    Hosted by K.M. Weiland
    http://wordplay-kmweiland.blogspot.com/

  258. Doug Fortier says:

First choice–A. Victoria Mixon, Editor–because her extensive blog gives me answers -why- my writing isn’t working and how to make it better, step by step; I love both of her books: The Art & Craft of Fiction, plus The Art & Craft of Story.

  259. I nominate Heather Lloyd-Martin’s Success Works blog: http://www.seocopywriting.com/blog/

This blog offers tips for new and seasoned SEO copywriters. It also offers DIY writing/marketing tips for small businesses. Heather’s blog mixes personal and inspirational stories, interviews, how-to’s, and more. Love the information and the humor.

  260. Marie Browne says:

I nominate The Renegade Writer. I especially love Linda Formicelli’s generous sharing of truly practical and useful information.

  261. Jaimie says:

I nominate The Renegade Writer blog

    http://www.therenegadewriter.com/

Linda Formichelli offers great advice that I often refer to as I build my own freelance business. I scored my first paid article after getting a free copy of the query packet she offers. I think her advice is a confidence booster. She’s very personable and knowledgeable. I’ve sent her e-mails and retweeted some of her posts. And she always gets back to me with a nice note. She truly rocks!

  262. Sarah says:

I nomination Distracton no. 99, the blog of novelist Nova Ren Suma http://novaren.wordpress.com/

Nova talks about her life as a writer and gets personal about her writing process- her struggles and successes. She is such an inspiration for unpublished and published writers alike and loves connecting with her readers on a personal level. I’ve particularly been enjoying her series “What inspires you?” lately.

  263. Jeffrey Russell says:

I’m nominating Victoria Mixon (http://victoriamixon.com/). Here’s why. Most any carpenter can build a decent house. A good carpenter can build a better one. But for a really good house you also need an architect, who understands hammers and nails as well as stressors and tensors. That’s what makes Victoria’s blog so valuable. You bring your two-by-fours, plywood and drywall and she can help you how to turn them all into a better story. A better book.

  264. Seth Barnes says:

    I nominate http://thewritepractice.com/

It’s a great blog for writers building their craft. It’s witty and practical.

As the CEO of an organization that initiates 600+ new bloggers a year, I’ve found http://thewritepractice.com/ to be a great help in helping them improve. For a relatively new blog, it’s amazing how quickly it’s caught on.

  265. There are so many fantastic blogs deserving to win. I notice most people going for blogs where they have a personal connection with the blogger and that is fantastic.

It would be great for these blogs to win – and I suspect most will

Jeff Goin’s blog http://goinswriter.com/ (already voted)

    Sean Platt ghostwriterdad.com/

Melissa Donovan http://www.writingforward.com/blog – for fantastic grammar and writing tips

Oni youngprepro.com/ from guestposting to freelance writing

    Marya http://writinghappiness.com/ (shameless self promotion!)

These guys are super stars. Carol Tice, Linda F, Joanna Penn, Judy Dunn ..Love their blogs.

My vote is for Writing Happiness:
    http://writinghappiness.com/
This is a phenomenal website that provides every bit of information an inspiring blogger/writer needs for taking their blog/website to the next level i.e. make it professional. There is tons of practical advice and Marya maintains very good relationship with her readers, which in my opinion is a huge plus in the world of blogging.

  269. Brian Collins says:

I nominate Victoria Mixon’s Blog. Amazing stuff!

    http://victoriamixon.com/

  270. I nominate “Pen and Prosper” blog http://penandprosper.blogspot.com/
as my favorite writing blog. Jennifer Brown Banks attempts to help writers of all levels to improve in the craft. She is warm and gracious in her interactions with her readers. They become friends of hers in very short time.

  271. Susan Kelly says:

I hate having to just pick one!

    http://terribleminds.com/ramble/blog/

Because Chuck has writerly passion like a volcano. An informed volcano.

  272. Steve Roy says:

I’d like to nominate Ruth Zive from http://www.freelancewritingblog.com
A year ago I decided to build an online business and started my blog. I had little experience with writing and have learned along the way.
What I like so much about Ruth’s blog is that it not only has great writing/freelancing tips but has personality. Many freelance writing blogs are pretty boring in my opinion and when I see big personality in this niche, it stands out.

She also has a great story and I feel personally connected to her. The thing is, she actually wants to help others succeed in this market and unfortunately, there are many who write just to write.

Thanks for the opportunity to share!

  273. May Lee says:

I would LOVE to nominate Men with Pens! (www.menwithpens.ca)

I love to read all their posts; they all provide the best information you can get! They are extremely well written. Serious enough to provide the information they are giving but they are always entertaining to read. I have learned so much from them, I would recommend them to anyone!

  274. audrey chin says:

I recommend Joe Bunting’s site http://www.thewritepractice.com. Joe’s blog doesn’t just give you good tips for practising, and helpful hints, it giets us involved! We’re encouraged to post our writing practice in the comments sec tion, and everyone is welcome to contribute their insights and suggestions for improvement. Joe’s comments are always spot on! More than any other writing blog, I’ve found the feedback from Joe and the other readers on everybody’s contributions the best way for me to polish my writing.

  275. Men with Pens http://www.menwithpens.ca classy stuff for writers of every stripe…newbies to seasoned, copywriters to fiction writers.

  276. Hiroko says:

Ooh, it has to be this blog:

    http://thecreativepenn.com/

You can find advice for any aspect of writing here, and it’s helped me learn ever since I decided that I wanted to get published someday. Miss Penn is an inspirational, hard-working writer; I love how she’s keeping this blog running to benefit others.

  277. Pat Landowska says:

I’d like to nominate The Renegade Writer http://www.therenegadewriter.com because it’s an awesome blog that provides a lot of practical and common sense advice on not only how to improve one’s writing, but also on different issues surrounding it such as how to organize your work, sell your articles, overcome writer’s blocks, etc., etc. What I like a lot about this blog is that its author Linda Formichelli doesn’t model herself as being a perfect writer; she talks a lot about her shortcomings, obstacles she encounters in her daily writing and living, and how she has overcome them (or tries to). Linda has an ability to laugh at herself and makes her readers laugh, too. Light, humorous writing, full of substance not only about writing but also about everyday life.

  278. Shelby Edwards says:

My vote goes to James Chartrand at Men With Pens. Consistently great, fresh, useful content delivered expertly.

    Main site: http://www.menwithpens.ca
    Blog page only: http://menwithpens.ca/blog/

    • Lots of great choices, but my favorite writing blog is also Men with Pens (menwithpens.ca) . James Chartrand not only puts out quality content about writing and blogging in her posts, she offers a range of services to bloggers, writers, freelancers, business owners and website developers. This year she launched her new course for writers and bloggers, “Damn Fine Words.” This is part of an umbrella of supports which include personal tutoring, an archive of hundreds of articles, weekly posts, personal correspondence, radio interviews, guest posts…. She also generously helps new bloggers/businesses get a head start with technical and emotional support and encouragement. Men with Pens is a model for other writing blogs to follow.

  279. I would like to nominate Men with Pens http://menwithpens.ca for two reasons.

    1. James helped a newbie like me find my confidence and writing voice
    2. James talks about the business side of writing which I think is very important

    Ainslie

  280. Holly Bowne says:

I would love to nominate The Renegade Writer blog: http://www.therenegadewriter.com/.

As a somewhat “newer” freelance writer, I have found Linda Formicelli’s posts extremely helpful, practical and inspiring! The advice I’ve found on her blog has helped me advance my writing career in so many ways!

    Thanks!
    Holly Bowne

  281. Mark Salter says:

I would like to nominate Victoria Mixon. Her dedication to the craft and years of experience has been invaluable in learning the craft of writing. The difference I’ve found with Victoria goes beyond the mechanics of writing, her advice and feedback have given me the foothold I need to stretch my skills and grow as a writer.

    Mark Salter

  284. Rance del Rosario says:

  285. I nominate http://www.TheCreativePenn.com. Great site, nice person, loads of information.

  286. Marisa says:

I nominate Linda Formichelli, The Renegade Writer ( http://www.therenegadewriter.com ). Linda is so generous with practical tips, stories and information to support new and continuing writers. I’ve learned so much and will continue to follow her. I learn something new everytime I visit.

  287. There are many good ones but I will nominate Joanna Penn’s blogg: http://www.TheCreativePenn.com/

I enjoy her posts and the casual, conversational information is easy to digest.

  288. Thank you so much for all the nominations for The Renegade Writer! I’m blown away reading what you all think of the blog. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

  289. My nomination absolutely goes to Joanna Penn at her site: http:/./www.TheCreativePenn.com/
I’m fairly to writing, with only one finished book under my belt. However, without the information and guidance that Joanna provides, I’d still be throwing scribbled sheets of paper into the bin, lost and frustrated. Her interviews, podcasts and emails are timely and concise.

If you only go to one source for writing information, go to Joanna’s site, you’ll find everything that you need, and more.

  290. Stephen says:

The Creative Penn is one of the most enlightening blogs around! Thank you Joanna, SW

  291. Peggy Baker says:

I thoroughly enjoy and have gained so much from Joanna Penn’s website, http://www.TheCreativePenn.com. She is so forthcoming with personal experience, lively interviews with successful authors and publishers, a wealth of constructive material, workshops, tutorials…you name it. It has become one of my most valuable resources for information, encouragement, and downright pleasurable reading. Thank you Joanna!

  292. Chris Coward says:

I nominate the Florida Writers Association Blog, http://floridawriters.wordpress.com/, which is always relevant to the writing life. 293. I nominate Joanna Penn at The Creative Penn. She is so dynamic, seeking out all that is new and interesting in the writing world, and extremely generous with her knowledge.

  294. I nominate The Creative Penn,
    http://www.TheCreativePenn.com
The content is always generous and informative. Her interviews with cutting edge bloggers/publishers/social media folks are fabulous.
Joanna was in the top 10 last year and she should stay there this year.
    Kudos to a terrific blog.

  295. Nicky Way says:

I nominate Ruth;’s Zive’s freelance writing blog, because as a freelance writer starting out, she gives me great encouragement to keep going and that I’m going to be able to earn a decent living out it even though at the moment I’m not. And It’s exciting to be with someone from the beginning of their blogging/authoring career like I am. I also nominate Ruth because I love it when someone gives there goal a go and succeeds!!!

  296. John Elicker says:

    http://victoriamixon.com/

Victoria Mixon has given me more advice through informal sessions than one so-called top-ten blogger gave me for one thousand dollars. She is timely and punctual; the other blogger made me wait, and after I told him/her I had purchased a Kindle version and a hard copy of his/her book, he/she sent me a third copy. It saved him/her from offering real suggestions for improvement. At the opposite end of the spectrum, is Victoria. She cares. She listens. Those are two of her strengths I greatly admire. She goes beyond what you’d expect in emails and in both her books – *The Art & Craft of Fiction:A Practitioner’s Manual* and *The Art & Craft of Story: 2nd Practitioner’s Manual.* She motivates me to read and read, and write and write. She’s one in a million.

    • I want to thank everyone who has nominated me from the bottom of my heart. Your nominations are so beautiful. Please know that I’m saving them all.

Happy holidays, everybody. Dona nobis pachem.

  297. I nominate Joanna Penn’s wonderful blog The Creative Penn.
    http://www.thecreativepenn.com

I’ve been following her blog for two years and have benefitted tremendously from her advice, experience and excellent support information. Her success is well deserved.

  298. I nominate Victoria Mixon at http://victoriamixon.com/

Victoria has influenced me for several years now. She helped me a long time ago on my novel, MONARCH, which debuted this last September. She extremely accurate with her posts and her editing, and she’s a valuable resource for all writers. I highly recommend her blog, her services, and her books.

  299. I nominate Joanna Penn’s The Creative Penn. Marvelous!

  300. Sophia Chang says:

Victoria Mixon’s content BLOWS MY MIND every single time, without fail. She gives us little tidbits that she puts into her books and professional work, but for free, so poor writers like me can soak it up like cocaine, but a really good cocaine. In any case, I’m an addict.

Did I take that metaphor too far? Who cares, she rocks.

  301. I nominate Linda Formichelli’s Renegade Writer blog.
    http://www.therenegadewriter.com

Through her blog, she is accessible. She tells you when she is accepting queries and when she’s not. Once a week like clockwork, she has a free-for-all Q and A where writers ask any question they want. Go Meredith. You and La Vie en Prose are the best.

  310. I nominate The Coffee House Wordsmith.

Joe has an original and humorous writing style, he shares openly about his freelancing efforts, and he sends out a regularly updated, free guide to paying writers’ markets.

  322. kati says:

I recommend http://thewritepractice.com/. Joe Bunting is the leader of this creative workspace. Each day, committed “Bunties” visit the site to receive Joe’s thoughtful topical content, and then attempt an easy-to-try, only-go-for-15-minutes writing prompt. The low-threat nudge makes it almost impossible not to jump in. And this is just the beginning. From here, Joe takes time to nurture every response…giving meaningful feedback that promotes even more learning. I’ve developed more as a writer here in just a few months than I have previously, in years of personal solo study.

My number one vote goes to Joanna Penn (www.TheCreativePenn.com) whose author’s blog has enabled me to leapfrog years of frustrating research and avoid numerous potential dead ends and mistakes in trying to understand the techniques required to get a book off the ground – and in particular, how to market it. I realised years ago that it is not enough to just write a book, and that in this day and age an author must have a lot of savvy in how to market it or get it marketed. Joanna Penn’s weekly blogs have fed this information to me by the boatload and given me the confidence to press ahead with a 30 year ambition that once seemed to be an impossible hurdle. Thank you Joanna Penn for your inspirational work – it is formidable.

  329. I nominate Joanna Penn for her tireless inspiration in offering informative news and advice about social networking, digital publishing and writing for authors. She has a wonderful way with bringing words alive on the screen: http://www.TheCreativePenn.com

It was Marya through her blog who made me to take the initial steps ( my blog named captain’s blog should be up and about shortly….more about it later). All I needed to know is there in her blog. The posts, the podcast, the vlogs… the variety is there in the format, features, and content. She not only gives great writing tips, often based on what has worked for classic and bestselling authors, she takes us on her own writing journey in an honest and entertaining way.

I especially want to mention the vlog posts about how she uses yWriter to organize her outlines- unique and valuable information.

I nominate Joanna Penn — http://www.TheCreativePenn.com She’s one of us, and it shows. She understands a writer’s frustrations, fears, and hopes because she has been there–and still is. She provides excellent content in several media, but beyond craft and prowess, I appreciate her helpful spirit and humble attitude. GR

For a newbie blogger, her info is and style of presenting is like talking to someone over coffee. I’m very comfortable reading her material and find her thoughts are relateable and easy to implement.

I have contacted Marya on a few occassions and she has been very helpful and genorous with her time. Her tips have been very helpful and to the point and she continues to write information that seems to keep up to my learning curve but thats just me. Coincedence I guess.

    Go Marya!!

  394. Michael Salisbury says:

I nominate Iain Broome’s blog, Write For Your Life found at writeforyourlife.net

He’s honest about where he is in his own writing career. He seems to have had and worked through, or is working with, the same doubts and problems I’ve had and am having. He’s encouraging, never snarky, and if you have a question, you can get an answer back in a day or two. His commentary inspires, usually resonates but sometimes challenges me. I’ve subscribed to many blogs and weeded almost all of them out. I’m sticking with Iain.

  395. I’m nominating the supertabulous Write For Your Life (or WFYL as I like to call it… along with everyone else) as it is a really down-to-earth site where you feel that everyone involved in the blog (i.e. Iain Broome) is going through what you are going through. There’s a face to the blog and a story to follow and it makes writing seem like a less lonely task. Writers are not obscure ethers and ideas, they are normal people.

Oh and it helps people write good.

    http://www.writeforyourlife.net

  396. So many of my favourite blogs mentioned here, so I’ll nominate one that doesn’t seem to have been spotlit yet – Catherine Ryan Howard’s http://catherineryanhoward.com/ . Witty, funny and very successfully self-published, she demands high standards of herself and encourages others to raise their game, so that we all feel emboldened to produce books we will be proud of. This listing wouldn’t be complete without her.

She clearly puts an enormous amount of energy into her blog and it has become a phenomenal resource for aspiring writers and self-publishers. One of his recent posts, in fact, helped to free me of hesitation in asking for sizeable contributions to support my 501(c)(3) for investigative reporting. As a journalist for 30 years I want to focus on the digging, analysis and reporting of things that need fixing, and don’t like to ask people for money to support this, other than posting the need to gather money to match the challege grant I received. His post talked about how if we don’t ask it’s because we’re saying no for the person we were going to ask. Looking at it that way helped me to get over it and go ahead and ask. And guess what? I’m getting yeses. Go Goins!

Joe then challenges the reader to practice for a manageable 15-minutes in a public comment so others can reply. I love this blog, both as a writer and a person interested in seeing other writers succeed. Joe’s insights are good for both new and accomplished writers, and the exercises keep his readers writing and learning every day.

  439. Terry Murphy says:

For me, it’s http://storyfix.com clearly in front.

Larry Brooks breaks down the structure of fiction that works well so that the rest of us can use it to build our own frameworks. And often the insights Larry reveals are more “A-ha” than “Eureka!”. Indispensable.

I nominate Larry Brooks’s http://storyfix.com which I believe has the most valuable novel writing advice of all the excellent websites concerned with novel writing. A lot of great writing sites are available these days. So many offer experience-changing tips. But storyfix is more than a tip or two. It is a whole concept. It tells you how to start. And if you start right, you understand where you’re going and finish on cue.

  476. Jude says:

    I nominate http://www.thepassivevoice.com/ .
It’s the site I visit several times a day to feel plugged and on top of the writer’s world. He’s a once retired now unretired lawyer who became known for his incisive look at publishing and agent contracts. That in itself has made it an indispensable blog, but wait! There’s more! PV manages to find some of the coolest links around teh internets, keeping a pulse on anything we writers need to know, from Kindle Fire news to amazing articles on plot building.

  477. Kathy says:

My vote goes to http://www.storyfix.com . Larry Brooks continues to inspire me to plan my story in order to make it stronger. He gives detailed how-to steps, encouragement and butt kicking as needed. I find no fluff in his content or his motives. Dare I label him as a compassionate drill sargeant?

  478. Mary says:

I nominate storyfix.com because The Great Oz-Blogger Larry Brooks knows everything there is to know about creating STORY and he has generously shared it in his blog. Every day I get a little something about structure, character, theme, set ups and pay offs, setting – you get the idea.
He has also created an interactive online community where people can critique each other’s work. And every so often he has a subject matter expert chime in and offer up a unique take on a subject.
Larry Brooks really knows his stuff…check it out and you’ll know this site needs to be voted NUMBER ONE.

  485. Fancy Ruff-Wagner says:

    I nominate http://www.storyfix.com.

I stumbled on this site while trying to figure out the difference between an Inciting Incident and a First Plot Point (came up in a google search). I immediately subscribed and have gone back through the archives and read quite a bit. This site answered questions I didn’t even know how to ask. I have made more progress on my novel in the several months since discovering this site than I’ve made in the past 8 years.

  486. Evelyn says:

I would like to nominate Larry Brooks’ blog, StoryFix.com — http://storyfix.com/

Why? Because there is a genuine desire to shake up writers and wanna-be writers to help them get on the right road to their own success. Few people do things like that these days.

In addition, this year, Mr. Brooks stepped out of his own comfort zone and spent an entire month writing to and about NaNoWriMo participants — to help them make something out of what they start! He never thought much of it before but he tried very hard to help all of us make something more out of it!

In addition, I have to admit to being both comforted and emotionally impacted by his words and thoughts many times. That doesn’t mean he hasn’t pissed me off, but I’m still reading! What does that say? Am I a a published writer? No. But, if I ever become one, I can tell you where a lot of my thanks will go! :)

Thanks for listening and letting me share. :)

  487. Paul Hawley says:

  495. mistodin says:

I wish to Nominate YoungPrePro as the Best Writing Blog

  496. I’m going to nomintate YoungPrePro, authored by Onibalusi.

I have to admit I didn’t think much of his blog at first, but then I really started digging into his writing and following along, and I’ve been a fan ever since.

His content is obviously well written, but more importantly it is actionable, and Oni knows how to write articles that people want to read (his “guide to guest blogging” post is a must read for all web writers). He addresses topics that really plague writers because he’s been there himself. His output is also really admirable, he’s definitely a productive guy!

Lastly, character is important to me when nominating someone for anything, and Oni is a class act in both how friendly he is to everyone and in his transparency.

  501. I nominate the Professional Writers of Austin blog because it’s dedicated to Austin writers and covers a comprehensive range of subjects such as breaking into particular fields (i.e. travel writing), the perils of content farms, and whether or not to self-publish. While specific to Austin, this blog covers topics that are relevant to all writers and contains valuable information for everyone, Austinite or no.

  502. Jeanne says:

I nominate http://Www.youngprepro.com because, after only a couple of trips to his site, he has already motivated me to try harder. I love to write, but lately have started spending far too much time reading e-mail, making comments on Facebook, and running to the kitchen for another cup of coffee.

This young man;s suggestion that we keep our serious writing on a separate computer really hit home with me.

I also like his honest, friendly style of writing. It sounds as though he has dropped by for a visit and is actually talking one-on-one with me.
