You will be pleased to note that Kiva have plans for creating loans also for within the USA. There are clearly problems all around the world and it is good to also focus on nearer home as well as distant lands. Also, the reason why we chose Kiva is that it doesn't just give away a handout, but a hand up. All or almost all Kiva loans are ultimately either repaid to the original lenders, or as is the case with most loans, recyled to another entrepreneur. I also think it's a great idea to blog for a higher purpose. I have an additional thought - how about if we try to make a difference in our own country before we try to fix the world? I am a citizen of the United States and I love this country. I think we have a lot of problems, and I think that blogging to alleviate the homeless problem in this country, the hungry problem in this country, the many social problems in this country.....I think we should start here.
